Saturday 15 September was World Clean-up Day and a small group of club members and friends met up at Waverton to do their bit in collecting rubbish.  Jaz's friend Denise, visiting from the Gold Coast and Waverton local Liane assisted us club members. We arrived at 9am for a group photo with Felicity Wilson and then proceeded to Waverton Park with our gloves on and garbage bags in hand.

At first glance we did notice that generally the area was quite free of rubbish however once you started looking "off the beaten track" there was some to be found! By the time we arrived at the Coal Loader we had collected over 50 kgs and a kindly employee from North Sydney Council took this off our hands – thank you!  Andrew Young joined us at the Coal Loader Café and we then walked up Balls Head Road past HMAS Waterhen and finished up at Wondakiah .

Thank you all very much for your great efforts.

On Tuesday , 18 September we will hear from Laura Blanchard & Maria Kurian
about the Mary MacKillop Today , Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
Tertiary Scholarship Program.
