Last Tuesday morning we enjoyed a talk by Jenny Horsfield on how the Honeysuckle Creek Space Tracking Station, South West of Canberra, was jointly established by NASA and the Australian Commonwealth Government in the early 1960’s. It was to play a major role in tracking all the Apollo space missions and most importantly transmitted those grainy black and white images of Neil Armstrong’s first steps onto the moon in July 1969 to a worldwide audience.

On Saturday, 17 August members of our club took part in a Bunning’s BBQ at their Artarmon store. Thank you all for giving your time and energy to this fundraising event and especially to Andrew Young for co-ordinating such.

I would also like to advise that we will again be holding our Halloween Party at the Cammeray Golf Club on Saturday, 2 November – further details will be appearing in our next bulletin.

The marketing campaign for this year’s World Festival of Magic Show will shortly commence with business’s in Sydney’s Northern Region being offered tickets for the event to held at Darling Harbour ICC Theatre on Saturday, 16 November.

I would  like to take this opportunity to thank all of those business’s for supporting last year’s show and look forward to another great event this year.

On Tuesday, 20 August we will be welcoming District Governor Kalma McLellan to our breakfast meeting and I invite all members to attend and greet her to our club.
