Last Tuesday we had the pleasure of welcoming District Governor Kalma McLellan to our breakfast meeting at Piato. She was impressed with the effort we had put into our presentation which highlighted how our relatively small club furthers the goals of Rotary. DG Kalma related to us that her father had been a long time Rotarian and how much we as an organisation needed to embrace the changes brought about by social media and lifestyle changes to keep Rotary relevant to the communities we serve.

Thank you to those members who contributed to the presentation. I was also very happy to induct our new member Bharat Patel and trust he will enjoy his involvement with our club.

Our recent Bunning’s BBQ was our most successful to date in fundraising and I would once again like to thank club members for giving their time and efforts.

On Tuesday, 27 August our speaker will be Harry Callen who will relate to us his experiences during a 4 week immersion into Borneo.
