Last Tuesday our members had the chance to sleep in as we had no breakfast meeting but held a social dinner at Piato restaurant in the evening. As usual Steve and his team provided a great meal and we all enjoyed the opportunity to chat with members, their partners and friends.

Last year you will remember we supported the End Polio Train Ride with our club member Jaz “riding the rails” all day with various groups of Rotarians. We will again be supporting this year’s event to be held on Thursday, 24 October by collecting donations at Milsons Point Station and I am seeking volunteers to assist for a few hours. We have a number of red End Polio T shirts for those who do not have such.

On Thursday, 10 October we will be representing Rotary at the North Sydney Senior’s Expo and will be joined by members of North Sydney Rotary Club and it will also be an opportunity for members of our club to attend the lunch meeting of our neighbouring club which is also held at Norths Club. Thanks to Trent Zimmerman and his staff for again organising this popular event.

Bruce West, CEO of IEG, the company which brings the World Festival of Magic to Australia each year will be attending our breakfast meeting on Tuesday, 24 September. He will update us on the progress of ticket sales for this year’s event and answer any member’s questions.

On Tuesday, 17 September our good friend Liane Heinke will speak to us about her experience growing olives to produce Virgin Olive Oil.
