A very Happy New Year to everyone and best wishes for a successful 2020.  At our first breakfast meeting on Tuesday, 7 January we heard from Alfonso Calero, a Professional Photographer who specialises in People and Places.  We saw many images taken during his time living in Japan and learnt how to better use our smart phones for capturing improved photos.

As you may know we have registered our interest in a project initiated by Rotary Club of Caringbah called Adopt a Town.  We have advised them of our intention to assist Molong in the Central Western region of New South Wales.  I have been in contact with Janis Glasson, President of Molong Rotary Club and we will be joining forces with them to coordinate distribution of drought support funds to needy recipients in the town.

Meanwhile in recent months many regions of Australia have, and continue to be impacted by devastating bushfires and Rotary has established a Rotary National Bushfires Appeal. For more information on how to donate see the RAWCS home page  https://rawcs.org.au/

I take this opportunity to remind club members of the joint Districts 9675 & 9685 Conference to be held on 20 – 22 March 2020 in Wollongong. Further details can be found on District 9685 website.

On Tuesday, 14 January our speaker will be Lindsay May who has just completed his 47th consecutive Sydney to Hobart Race.
