At last Tuesday’s breakfast meeting we heard the story of a farmer’s journey through politics and business.  Our speaker was John Sharp AM a former member of the National Party and an elected member of the Australian House of Representatives from 1984 to 1998.   Since retiring from politics John has found success in a variety of business ventures in road, sea and air transport including a current involvement in air transfers of personnel and cargo to Australia’s Antarctic ice runway at Wilkins Island.

I have been advised by Janis Glasson, President of Rotary Club of Molong that the initial distribution of funds to 13 needy families in the town has been completed. We hope to be able to remit further funds in the near future.  She has also finalised the application for a $5,000 grant to the Cabonne Shire Council which she has been advised has a very good chance of approval when council meets in early March.

As a fundraiser for the drought relief our club will be involved at a donations table set up in Greenwood Plaza, North Sydney on Wednesday, 26 February and we hope to have other dates offered to us in the future.

Our speaker on Tuesday will be Ben Wheeler talking on the subject – Blood Pump technology.
