Last Tuesday our speaker Don Wilson informed us of his efforts to establish a Bushcare group in Northbridge in 2000 and how that initial small start has led to 286 groups being set up throughout the country.  He gave us tips on reducing littering and how we can improve our recycling.

It was appropriate that he visited our club a few days after a small group of club members participated in a Cleanup Australia Day event.  Once again this year we cleaned an area in Waverton on Balls Head Road adjacent to the HMAS Waterhen naval base.  Special thanks to Prati, Bharat’s wife who put on the gloves and joined us in this event.  I am pleased to advise that we needed to collect less litter than last year and hope this is an ongoing trend with future visits to this site! Well done team.

North Sydney Sunrise together with North Sydney and Crows Nest Rotary Clubs has been working towards the establishment of a monthly Rotary DCafe to be held at the Crows Nest Centre on the 4th Wednesday of each month.  The first of these events will be held on Wednesday, 25 March.  Thanks to Denise at CNC and the various other people who have put their time and efforts into this this worthwhile cause.

On Tuesday, 10 March our speaker will be Tim Quok who will give us an update on the construction of the Western Harbour Tunnel and Beaches Link.
