Last Tuesday a small number of members chose to attend our Club Forum but I appreciate that other members decided to stay away for obvious reasons.  Moira presented a revised budget and we discussed the amounts of our donations to both of our major beneficiaries from the World Festival of Magic and the Molong Drought relief project.

A board meeting was convened and the revised donation amounts were approved after taking into account the possibility of reduced funds to be received from the two Bunning’s BBQ’s we have scheduled for early May and late June. As we have since been advised Bunning’s have suspended such events for 4 weeks and will review the situation after that time.

We also agreed not to proceed with the Pride of Workmanship Awards dinner on Monday, 30 March after learning that the Rotary clubs of Lane Cove and North Sydney had suspended all meeting and events. This would have left only our club and Crows Nest club involved.  We hope to either have our award recipient visit a future club breakfast to receive the award or attend a postponed dinner later in the year.

The District Conference which was to be held from 20-22 March in Wollongong has been cancelled and there is very little chance of the District Assembly taking place next month.

Members will be updated by President Elect Cathie on the status of the DCafe project which has been put on hold.

Our club will not be holding meetings for the rest of March and will assess the situation in early April.

As we all endure this unprecedented situation may I wish you all a safe return to the normalcy of pre Covid-19 days at a not too distant time.
