North Sydney Council Renewable Energy Project

Ian Garradd has a special interest in both energy efficiency and sustainable energy provision, and has been closely watching the energy transformation rapidly evolve, particularly over the past 10 years, as the transformation towards renewable energy has become inevitable, and unstoppable.

His work with North Sydney Council as a Sustainability Project Officer relates to two primary delivery areas. These are Council facilities and Community sustainability in relation to water and energy.

Within Council assets, his role is to identify and manage projects which reduce Council Asset energy consumption and carbon emissions, and also to utilise water resources more efficiently.

Within the community sector, his current primary project is to reduce the community sector emissions by 56000 tons of CO2-e (Carbon dioxide equivalent) per year by 2020.

Ian’s presentation will be about this current project, including discussing the opportunities for the residential and business communities.
