"Hey Tosser" program

Litter – what is it? Why is it a problem? What influences us to litter?  Or to put it in the bin? Sharon Owens, Manager Litter Prevention in the NSW Environment Protection Authority will talk about the research around people’s behaviour, and how we can change.  She will also talk about NSW’s unprecedented focus on reducing litter for the long term, what is being done, and what businesses can do to make a difference.

Sharon Owens is the Manager Litter Prevention with the NSW EPA. She manages the $50 million Litter Fund, part of the NSW Government’s Waste Less Recycle More initiative. She has been working in waste policy and programs since 2004 and before that was Executive Officer and Legal Officer to the Board of Resource NSW.  She has also been the Principal Legal Officer at the Department of Local Government dealing with local government issues of all kinds.
